Unforgettable experience in the United States Embassy in Malaysia
I went to United States Embassy located at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for my visa interview. Frankly speaking, this is my 1st Visa interview, previously Visa to Japan and China not require interview session, same goes to Korea and United Kingdom. I do feel a bit nervous and worry.
I reached US Embassy by 0815am and my appointment time is 0820am, queuing for 10 minutes and I managed to enter to US Embassy and gotten myself a queue number. Everyone have to go through few steps in order to get Visa. We need to submit our documents to the 1st counter, then scan our finger print, lastly interview by Embassy Staff. It is just a simple flows, and everything goes just fine until interview session.
I knew the most difficult part is the interview session, but I never expect myself was much difficult than I can imagine of. I walk to the interview counter, I still can remember that Counter 5. The one who interview me should be American Chinese, we started with harmony situation, say greeting to each others…
But then, he started to ask about company details, I had told him that my company was listed and it is a British company, and he demand more explanation from me. I’m fine to explain more to him, but the way he demand was rude, really rude, it make me feel I’m someone guilty being question by the judge in the court. But I still can cope with this situation, I still remain calm and continue answer all his question one by one. Until….
He asked me about my recent payslip, I said that I don’t have it and he wish to have my offer letter from my company which I don’t bring either. I wish to show him that I have the letter from HR to prove I’m working with the company, then the most funny part happened….
He said”We don’t need to see any documents”
As I still holding the letter towards him…
He repeat”We don’t need to see any documents, I need you to say/explain…”
I started to keep back my letter, but hell know he grab the letter from me and crush it then dump into dustbin beside him.
He said”We don’t need it…”
OMG, what was happening? Am I doing anything wrong? How can a person represented their country did this thing to a person who will entering their country for the 1st time?
This is my 1st encounter with Visa Interview and I got my ever best experience with them. Thanks, thanks for showing me all these. I’m not angry on his action, or maybe he just wish to freak me out and make me nervous, could be like that also, but I really don’t like it. I just feel disappointed on their act/behavior, he really shows something to me.
Anyone have such unforgettable memory, mind to share?
