A new Facebook alike friend connection webs appeared in Malaysia. 1Malaysia.com grows in very fast mode, it increasing almost 100members within 1 hour.
but now it has 5,136 Members. So fast, so rapid change….
At first I saw the Facebook share said 1Malaysia.com would like to replace Facebook in future, it sound like a joke, but looking at the growing rate, it might be 2nd Facebook, or maybe it can win Friendster eventually.
It name as 1Malaysia.com, but the thing is I found something funny when you sign up with it.
You will see the table below when you click on “Sign-up”…
Nothing special, right? but when come to select time-zone…
There isn’t any name of Malaysia? Yes, maybe it take a common script from the webs, but just hope they can include Malaysia into the same Zone with Singapore. Thanks in advance.

I don’t see how it can ever beat Facebook, a global social networking service. This on the other hand, has a “Malaysian” name to it which will definitely restrict it to only MALAYSIANS and none other.
In addition, the concept of 1malaysia.com doesn’t offer privacy at all. I scrolled through the site with no account whatsoever and I was able to see members’ posts, videos, photos, etc. Talk about privacy statement.
Furthermore, the coding of the site itself is really no match as compared to Facebook which has reached a certain complexity where it is really user friendly and convenient. 1malaysia.com also does not offer chatting services.
Beat Facebook? Dream on.

They name it 1malaysia so does it mean its only for malaysians?
Or even if its open for everyone, foreigners will be signing up under another country’s name…wont that sound weird if they tell their friends
