ALPHOTOS Photography | Backlighting effect make your photo look better, nicer
Backlighting should a bad condition to capture photo, but sometime it gives you unexpected photo works.
Backlighting means subject with be in between Light source and camera, while light source at behind of the subject. Normal camera/ compact camera with light sensor will derive that light source too strong and will tunes down the exposure and then your subject will look dark when captured.
From Wikipedia said:
Backlighting refers to the process of illuminating the subject from the back. In other words, the lighting instrument and the viewer are facing towards each other, with the subject in between. This causes the edges of the subject to glow, while the other areas remain darker. The backlight can be a natural or artificial source of light.
That the extraordinary effect of the backlighting. It highlight the edge of the object in sharp mode. But we need some flash to fill in the light on the subject from front, sometime reflector can do this job well. Backlighting photography is difficult to do, but the result will be worth for the effort.
Recently I always try on “backlighting” style in my photoshoot, some success and some failed. I will keep on trying to learn, practice for capturing better and nicer images. Stay Tuned for more works to appeared at here…
