Taken from Return of the two-tiered Civic dashboard
This post do not direct relate to Any Honda’s cars.
I think all car must have a Dashboard which have many indicator on it, such as Speed, Rpm, Petrol Level, Radiator Temp. Level, etc… Normally Dashboard will light on when you turn on the car lamp, right? But recently some of the car’s dashboard light on right after you start the engine, it helps driver to see better with the light is on. I totally agreed with this idea at first, not until last week Friday…
I drove back to office from Mid valley, there was a car (Honda City) on the road where the driver (Women driver with few kids in the car) do not switch on the car lamp. My 1st thought was “Maybe the road was too bright and that’s why she do not notice about that”.
(Her car was right in front of my car)
When I start to think further~ She should notice about this when she see the dashboard with the light off condition (light off means car lamp is off). Later I’d realized that her car (New type) was those dashboard light on when the engine was start, so the dashboard light was on and that why she never know that her car is almost invisible to others, because there isn’t any light from her car. It is very dangerous, if people can’t notice her car existence, it means they might knock her car by anytime, any change… What if the one who knock her car is Lorry or Bus? Can you imagine that…
I asked some Honda driver/user, they mentioned that is a indicator for car lamp on/off at the dashboard, and some said if the car lamp is switch on, the dashboard light will be dimmer. For me, both isn’t so significant to tell the driver where they has turn on the car lamp or not. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I really hope there is a ways to improve this condition, a car which do not turn on the light is almost same as committing suicide slowly…
What is your opinion about this, please share…
