Life beside the edge

Robot can wait for hundred years for their master, and can keep on spent time to wait, maybe it can wait for another thousand years before his power finished up or before his lubricant / joints wore out… But, we’re just normal human, how many years we can have in a life?

Another 6 days more, I had been worked for current company for 5 years. 5 years, before this, I never think that I can manage to survive in same job for 5 years. Wow, why? what is the reason behind?

Well, I should said I’d gained lots of thing from here, actually I’d learned lots of things in this company. At here, I’d learned that everyone can be very difficult to talk with if you use the wrong methods to communicate. Yet there is some people still very difficult to handle even you work hard on it, even you try to be very very polite to them, because they’re the group of people being sent to test you, test your EQ level. I can say that working life, everybody did faced it.

My company actually treat me very very well, I maybe just a little mice in this MNC, but I lucky to have nice/friendly/kind superior whom always guide me, helps me whenever I’d faced problem. Thanks to Mr. Hamaie and Mr. Nagamine. They even tried their best to teach me on Japanese language during my stay at Tokyo, by email, by phone, they tried the explained all my queries one by one. Enjoys my time with them (Currently they’d been sent back to HQ, Tokyo-Japan).

I had been work more than 6 years after I’d graduated from University. I’d spent 5/6 years at here. I went few countries for meeting/training within these 5 years, Korea, China, Japan and pass by Hong Kong too.

What will my next stop after another 6 days? Continue or move on for next? How many more 5 years I can have?

The longer I’d worked, the more I start to think, where is my future? Continue current position, another 5~10 years, I might be promoted to manager position in (As if the company still exist), but who am I then?

If I’m a manager, will I pushed all the responsible to my subordinate fully, even they’re overloaded with their works. Will I started to refuse to change, to think, to work because I’m manager? Started to accept criticism from others, started to consider that those disobeyed me were my enemies?

If I’m manager, will I be an unreasonable man and refuse to listen to any advice from anyone. Will I fight for my own opinion even I knew it is a fault/mistake, and lastly I force everyone to proceed it and then when problem appeared, all blame will push to my subordinate.

If I’m manager, will I lost all the trust from my subordinate? They will not treat me as their colleague nor friend, they greet me as their manager, that’s all. They don’t even wish to see me after working hour.

When think of all these… Will you still wish to be manager in the future? And what kind of Manager you will be?

Sometime I see some people busy to edit here and there to enhance their report for more presentable. They even studies the optimum font size for slide shows, which color gave better effect, what kind of symbol can attract people attention. How many hours they had been burned for doing all these things beside the content of report.

A report, we need is the fact, the contents, not the side dishes which decorate it. We need to know what the report about, what the issue been discuss about…. Many people forget about the essential of making report. To make it understandable is good, not to make is attractive. Maybe you might say “If not attractive, people don’t even look on it…” Yes, I agree with this. That’s why we need to make our report neat and clear to refer and read, not means to decorate it make it become attractive. It might be attractive, but not informative.

My friend once told me that his boss very concern on his own report, always make it nicely and presentable with all decor… but my friend never see any of his ideas mentioned in the report works… All the ideas just not achievable thought… For him, all decor were just foolish job…

For me, if you dying to attract people with your report, you better put naked girl/boy photo in the report, confirm all eyes wide open to see it, and concentrate at your presentation…

I heard my colleague always complaint about their immediate superior or their boss, I think this is the common topic shared no matter which work place, correct me if I’m wrong. We been paid to work by company, and to obey our superior instruction, and etc…. Why everyone complaining on their job environment? They used to say…

“They just don’t understand the total story and start barking at there!!”

“They just wish to get away from problem, from all the blaming…”

“They’re idiot; they just come to office to enjoy life…”

Wow, is that true? If they really like what everybody says, how they can become your superior? Think about it… I’d learned an advice from a person, he said “If you consider your boss as idiot, yet you’re reporting to him directly, who are you then?”, he continues “You’re worst than an idiot….”

Yes, it is true… so true…
