The National Consumers Action Council (Majlis Tindakan Pengguna Negara, abbreviated as MTPN) is not only a platform aimed at protecting consumer rights but also a certification platform that supervises and motivates companies in various sectors to improve the quality of their services and products. In recent years, the certifications or brand awards organized by MTPN in various sectors have been recognized by the business community, government, and consumers, and have become authoritative awards in our country’s business community and among consumers.
The ‘Consumers Choice Award 24/25’ (abbreviated as CCA) organized by the National Consumers Action Council of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur recently announced its results. A total of 42 outstanding companies and organizations from various industries, both domestic and international, were honored for providing consumers with trustworthy, professional, and guaranteed products and services, standing out from the nominations and receiving accolades at the awards ceremony that evening.
The awards ceremony was grandly held at the Confetti Center in Kuala Lumpur on the evening of the 3rd of this month. In addition to gathering the elites from various industries across the country, the event was attended by Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Mohamad Sabri, and Deputy CEO of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Abu Bakar Yusof, who were invited to witness the highlight moments of the 42 award recipients along with Datuk Paduka Yang Kwai Dr. Yew Yang, Deputy Speaker Abdul Malek, Masrudi, Norman Ganshani, Deputy Speaker and Kuala Lumpur Branch President Professor Teng Jiewei, Advisor Hazri Rashid, Chairman of the Consumers Certification Brand Award Organizing Committee Alice Teng, Secretary-General of the World Humanitarian Movement Malaysia Datuk Dr. Dorashami, President of the World Council for Consumer Protection (WCPCC) Dr. Wong Shing Fatt, and former Taiping MP Tan Sri Datuk Seri Makarvis. The event was indeed star-studded.
This time, a total of 115 companies and organizations were nominated for the CCA, with 42 companies and organizations ultimately being awarded. She explained that the high number of competitors can be attributed to the fact that the CCA is awarded by MTPN, a credible and official-linked organization.
“For brands, the CCA is undoubtedly a definitive certification that can also help more consumers recognize the company’s products or services, thereby increasing consumer trust and recognition.”
As the chair of this year’s CCA organizing committee, she hopes that this award can serve as a catalyst for the winners to continuously innovate and improve quality, provide reasonable prices and high-quality products and professional services, and that their ongoing efforts and dedication will be appreciated and respected by users.
“CCA not only enhances industry standards and stimulates domestic economic growth, but also serves as a motivation for the awarded companies, encouraging other companies to perform better as well.”
Notably, the Corporate Social Responsibility Award was also presented to six companies and organizations at the awards ceremony that evening, in recognition of their contributions to society.
Consumer Choice Recognition Award Organizing Chairlady – Alice Tan mentioned that a total of 115 companies registered this year, and 42 companies qualified and were selected to receive recognition tonight. These selections are the result of thorough evaluations based on their achievements in meeting high standards of consumer satisfaction. This underscores that the corporate sector in our country not only drives economic growth but also plays a crucial role in safeguarding consumer welfare and trust.
The Consumer Choice Recognition 2024 Award, certified by Malaysian consumers, serves as a credit label enabling consumers and businesses to engage in fair transactions. What consistently captures consumer attention is sincere service and corporate integrity!
The Vice President of National Consumer Action Council – Prof. Jericho Tang emphasizes its continuous efforts to act as a bridge between consumers and the business sector. Our goal is to create a business ecosystem that is not only competitive but also consumer-friendly, focusing on values such as honesty, innovation, and social responsibility.
Tonight’s awards also serve as motivation for all parties to keep striving to improve service quality and product innovation. Consumer satisfaction is the cornerstone of any business’s success, and I am confident that tonight’s award recipients will continue to set an example for other companies.
The Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Tuan Mohd Sabri Bin Seman mentioned that consumers will also become more aware of their rights, including raising concerns about products or services and advocating for legislative changes. Thus, having a basic understanding of consumer rights can truly help you avoid unnecessary problems.
