Fair-weather friendship good for us?
Fair-weather friendships are not necessarily good for us because they tend to be one-sided and based on the other person’s needs rather than a genuine interest in our well-being and friendship.
While it’s understandable to have acquaintances or connections who may only come around when they need something, relying on these types of relationships for emotional support or a sense of community can leave us feeling isolated and unfulfilled.
In contrast, genuine friendships provide us with emotional support, companionship, and a sense of belonging. They are based on mutual trust, respect, and a desire to support each other through life’s ups and downs. True friends are there for us, not just when they need something, but in good times and bad.
In summary, while fair-weather friendships may serve a specific purpose or need in our lives, they are not a substitute for genuine friendships and can leave us feeling unfulfilled in the long run.
