The stage is set for an unforgettable evening of elegance, empowerment, and global unity as the Miss CosmoWorld 2024 Grand Final takes place on 20 November 2024, at the prestigious The St. Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The highly anticipated event will showcase 32 contestants from around the world for a share of the impressive RM1,000,000 prize pool. This year’s finale promises to be a celebration of resilience, diversity and the empowerment of women.
The journey to the grand final began with a press conference on 14 November 2024 at Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Jalil, the official venue sponsor of the event. The press conference highlighted the pageant’s broader impact on participants and society, emphasizing its role in fostering global unity and female empowerment.
Founder of Miss CosmoWorld, Ms. Carrie Lee Sze Kei, who started her journey as a beauty queen at 17 years old, shared her inspiring story of how she envisioned Miss CosmoWorld as a platform that transcends traditional notions of beauty. Having grown the event from a small project with a single staff member into a global celebration, Ms. Carrie remains passionate about empowering women to break barriers and embrace their strength, ambition and resilience.
Ms. Carrie’s dedication to social causes goes far beyond the pageant stage. In partnership with the Rotary Club of Bandar Utama, she organized a Malaysia most famous sports, badminton tournament and Rescue aid, AED/CPR training at her White Fairy Futsal & Badminton Court, engaging all 32 contestants in promoting health, safety and national sports. Additionally, the contestants embarked on a 2 days 1 night cultural exchange trip to Malacca where they explored historical landmarks, enjoyed local cuisine, shopping and embraced the city’s scenic beauty while helping to promote Tourism Malaysia.
As part of the pageant’s focus on emotional intelligence (EQ), the five components of EQ as per Daniel Goleman —Self-Awareness, Self-Regulation, Motivation, Empathy and Social Skills are central to the contestants’ journey. The event emphasizes not just beauty, but the development of leadership qualities and a commitment to positive social change.
Ms. Carrie Lee, the Founder of Miss CosmoWorld, delivered an inspiring speech at the Miss CosmoWorld 2024 Grand Final, sharing the vision and journey behind the pageant. The evening was further honored by speeches from Y.M. Tengku Dato’ Dr. Hishammuddin Zaizi bin Y.A.M. Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Al-Haj (Patron of CosmoWorld) and Y.B. Senator Datuk Seri Dr. Zurainah Binti Musa, who served as distinguished Guests of Honor for the occasion.
